AI has the answer.
ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overviews answer your buyer before your site gets a click. GEO is the work that decides whether that answer names you.
Your buyers ask an AI before they visit a site. The answer often names someone else.
More and more content is written for AI engines, yet most of it is never cited. Being named in an answer depends on whether the engine can read your site, understand what you offer, and find other sources that confirm it.
So the first question is not what to publish next, but what the engines already say about you today, and where that answer comes from.
Ranking is no longer enough. You also have to be cited.
What AI engines say about you, and why.
Measurement
Before changing anything, we look at what the AI engines actually answer when your buyers ask about your category.
How often AI names you, and who it names instead.
We put a set of real buyer questions to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, AI Overviews and AI Mode, and repeat them over time. You see how often your brand comes up, which competitors are named instead and what the engines get wrong about you, next to the AI traffic already visible in GA4 and Search Console. How the questions are chosen.
Technical foundations
An AI engine can only cite what it can read. This is the quickest part to check, and the one most often overlooked.
Let the right crawlers in.
Each engine uses its own crawlers, and a single line in robots.txt can shut one of them out without anyone noticing. We check which bots can reach your site, including Google's, where blocking Google-Extended also removes you from Gemini, and make sure your content exists in the page itself rather than appearing only once JavaScript has run. The checks we run.
Pages that answer clearly.
Engines and readers both look for a direct answer. We restructure your key pages around the questions buyers actually ask, with the answer near the top, clear headings, comparison tables in real HTML and an FAQ where it helps. It is not a secret AI formula: it simply makes your content easier to understand, and easier to quote.
Citations
Engines trust what others say about you more than what you say about yourself, so part of the work happens beyond your own site.
Content worth quoting.
We write new articles for the questions where your brand is missing today: definitions, comparisons, practical guides. Each one opens with a clear answer, backs it up with evidence and is signed by someone with real expertise, so that engines and readers alike know who is talking.
Present where the engines look.
Monitoring shows which sites the engines quote in your category: review platforms, trade media, LinkedIn articles, communities. We focus there, with editorial placements, genuine expert contributions and reviews from real customers, and keep the facts about your company identical everywhere. No bought links, no fake mentions. How we choose where to appear.
Four factors raise the odds of being cited.
The first is the quickest to check.
Reachable
The right crawlers allowed, content in the raw HTML.
The usual missOne Disallow line nobody remembers adding.
Parseable
Each section answers one question on its own.
The usual missThe answer buried in paragraph nine.
Corroborated
The claim repeated where the engine already looks.
The usual missOnly your own site saying it.
Attributable
Facts about you that agree everywhere.
The usual missThree descriptions of the same company.
Publishing more on top of this just feeds the answer your competitors are in.
Your place in the answer, measured and improved.
Measurement, foundations, citations. In that order.
Start with a conversation and we scope from there. If your organic foundations need to come first, we will say so.
